Ethiopia again demands access to the Red Sea as tensions with neighbors escalate
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is reiterating his country’s demand for Red Sea access, escalating tensions with neighboring coastal nations who maintain that governance of the sea rests with them. The dispute adds to existing regional conflicts over the Tigray region and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
