LONDON: The World Health Organization said it urgently required $31 million to expand its health response in war-torn Yemen, where the latest escalation in hostilities has killed almost 1,000 people, displaced nearly 198,000 and overwhelmed already strained medical services. The appeal for humanitarian funding has more than tripled from the previous target of $9 million as needs have grown, the agency said.
