Saudi Arabia's preparations for hosting World Expo 2030 in Riyadh are progressing rapidly, with the Riyadh Expo Bureau announcing that over 190 countries have confirmed their participation. The six-month event, running from October 2030 to April 2031, is expected to attract 40 million visitors and generate SAR 120 billion in economic impact.
The Expo Site
The 6-square-kilometer Expo site in north Riyadh will feature:
- 190+ national pavilions designed by world-renowned architects
- Three thematic districts: Tomorrow Together, Planet Alive, and Future Innovation
- A 200,000-capacity central plaza for opening and closing ceremonies
- Dedicated metro stations on three metro lines
- Sustainable construction using 50% recycled materials
Legacy Planning
After the Expo, the site will be transformed into Riyadh's largest mixed-use development, including a science museum, innovation hub, and public park. The Saudi government has committed SAR 40 billion to the Expo, with an additional SAR 25 billion in private investment.
Visitor Experience
Expo 2030 will feature daily cultural performances, a global food village with 200+ restaurants, immersive technology exhibitions, and the first-ever AI-powered personalized visitor guide system. Special visa-free entry will be available for all Expo ticket holders.
